B4.3. Session Overview - A plan for the management of OUD: Behavioral Health Services and referral to treatment

Students will take part in an interactive overview of the five approved behavioral health treatments identified in the new OBOT regulations (4731-33-01).  Participants will learn, apply and test their knowledge via interactive discussions.  The goal of this course is to help participants develop their knowledge about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Community Reinforcement Approach, Contingency Management, Motivational Interviewing and Behavior Couples Counseling to aid the process of referring patients and coordination of care, including those with opioid use disorders.

Instructional Strategy: Lecture/Discussion, 1 hour

  1. Examine the empirical support for each psychosocial treatment 
  2. Identify the core elements of each psychosocial treatment
