A6.3. Session Overview - A plan for the measurement of pain: Surgery

The purpose of this session is to introduce the basic principles of interventional pain management and the role of surgery in treatment of pain.  Topics will include an introduction to various treatment options; from joint injections, nerve blocks, to surgical treatment options for common conditions such as degenerative joint disease to low back pain. Additionally, the session will discuss role and benefits of perioperative pain management. 

Instructional Strategy: 1 hour

  2. Describe the role of perioperative pain management
