Important Announcement: The New Library System and updated E-resource login process are Here!. As part of OhioLINK, Ohio's academic library consortium, the NEOMED Library is updating its 30-year-old shared systems. The new system allows researchers to "discover" print and electronic resources with a single search. Click here to start using the new system. Additionally, we have also changed the way that you all will login for off-campus access to the electronic resources provided by the NEOMED Library. All NEOMED students, faculty, clinical faculty, staff, and retirees, will click on the "Login using your NEOMED Network credentials" link on the login page. From there, you will be routed through NEOMED's network login process using the same login credentials that you use for logging into your email, Sharepoint, and other essential NEOMED networked resources. Please be patient with us as we get everything situated for your use and contact us with any questions at 330-325-6600 or e-mail library@neomed.edu for help.

Literature Search Services: Overview

Support for Literature Searches

The library provides a number of services to support individual and group research projects involving any type of literature review. Contact us at the beginning phases of your project to develop an expert-level strategy and ensure that you locate the most relevant resources for your topic. We can also help you refine the scope of your topic before running any searches and assist with citation management.

Please fill out the following form to schedule an initial consultation to discuss your topic and plan a search, or call us at 330-325-6600. The library also provides an online Literature Search Request Form that allows NEOMED community members to directly request a search. The reference librarian will typically respond within 1-2 days to discuss the topic before running any searches. Literature searches are done for NEOMED faculty, staff, and students*, including clinical faculty. The status will be verified before conducting a search.

If you have any questions, please email the Reference Librarian (refdesk@neomed.edu).

*service is only available to students who are conducting research projects in collaboration with faculty, outside of the core curriculum. For example, this service is not offered to students who need articles to complete assignments for the tertiary resources assignment within the Health Systems and Community I course; rather, students can receive instruction on how to search in different databases. Please schedule an appointment using our form, if you want to learn how to search for tertiary resources.
