AT THE END OF THE LECTURE, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:

  • Define and distinguish different study design approaches used in clinical research
  • Discuss advantages and disadvantages of different study design approaches
  • Distinguish between descriptive and inferential statistics
  • List 2 common sampling methods
  • Identify data as nominal, ordinal, or interval level
  • Describe the normal distribution
  • Calculate the mean, median, and mode
  • Describe 2 measures of variability
