Information and training materials about the NIH Public Access Policy

What is the policy?

All researchers that have received NIH funding must submit their published results to PubMed Central upon acceptance for publication. An embargo of no longer than 12 months after publication may be placed on the papers prior to public access. It is the responsibility of the PIs and their institutions to meet all terms and conditions of awards. Any peer-reviewed manuscript that is directly produced from their NIH grant must be submitted even if the PIs of the grant are not authors. It is also the responsibility of PIs and institutions that there is full compliance to this policy for any submitted articles in publishing or copyright agreements.
