NEJM is the most widely read, cited, and influential general medical periodical in the world. Its impact factor far exceeds other journals in the field and access to NEJM is considered “must have” for medical schools, hospitals, and research driven organizations around the world.
The site license provides access from 1990 to present, but the online version of NEJM is much more than just top cited research articles. It also contains a number of key features including:
Videos in Clinical Medicine: An excellent teaching tool allowing users to watch common clinical procedures. The videos are peer reviewed for accuracy and provide a concise review of the procedure.
Medical PowerPoint Slide Sets/Image downloads: A popular teaching tool allows you to present an article summary; with key figures and tables in a fraction of the time it would to compose the slides yourself. Users can download all images, illustrations, and tables from NEJM into PowerPoint slides with the click of a button. Each slide includes the article title and citation, and the caption for the image is automatically added to the Notes section of your presentation.
Images in Clinical Medicine: Each week, NEJM publishes two images in Clinical Medicine; the images are typically examples of a common clinical presentation along with accompanying text
Audio Summary: a weekly Audio Summary that provides a recap of the articles in that week’s issue. Each Audio Summary runs approximately 10-20 minutes and provides the most important conclusion from each article
