How Do I?

How can I link to NEOMED Library resources?

Resources are available to link to in Canvas, PowerPoint and/or Word. All off-campus users need to authenticate that they are NEOMED affiliated to access the library's resource(s).

There are two different types of URL’s that will require authentication.

Option One: NEOMED licensed resources – you will see the EZproxy prefix (https://neomed.idm.oclc.org/login?url=) at the beginning of the URL, or you will see a link to our Discovery layer.

In both cases, when you are off-campus, when you click the URL or on the full text within the Discovery Layer, you’ll get a page asking for this information:

Your name will be your given name: Last, First.

Your library ID number is your student ID number. You’ll need to enter the zeroes; the system wants an 8-digit number not including the @.

You can also use our Proxy Link Generator if you have a link to a library electronic resource that does not currently have the NEOMED Library's proxy prefix (Clinical Key Figure or table) and want to ensure it works off campus. Click on the figure or image, copy the URL and paste it into the generator to get a dynamic permalink.

Option two: OhioLINK licensed resources – ohiolink.edu will be in the URL.

When you click the URL, you’ll first be asked to identify your institution.

You will then be prompted to enter your login credentials as noted above.

Proxy Link Generator

Have a link to a library electronic resource and want to ensure it works both on and off campus? Use our Proxy Link Generator! It will add the proxy server's referring URL prefix (https://neomed.idm.oclc.org/login?url=) to the beginning of a link, ensuring off-campus access works correctly.

  • The link must be a stable, persistent link as opposed to a dynamic URL which includes session information (usually "session" or "sid" in the URL) that will expire and can't be reused (see Linking to Library Resources page).
  • Sites that have dynamic URLs usually have a link for a "permalink" or "jumpstart" URL.
  • You do not need to add the proxy to freely available sites or links that already contain https://neomed.idm.oclc.org/login?url=....

1. Copy and paste your source URL here:

2. Click the "Create link" button below:

3. Copy and use the resulting link

4. Clear the form to make another link
