Important Announcement: The New Library System and updated E-resource login process are Here!. As part of OhioLINK, Ohio's academic library consortium, the NEOMED Library is updating its 30-year-old shared systems. The new system allows researchers to "discover" print and electronic resources with a single search. Click here to start using the new system. Additionally, we have also changed the way that you all will login for off-campus access to the electronic resources provided by the NEOMED Library. All NEOMED students, faculty, clinical faculty, staff, and retirees, will click on the "Login using your NEOMED Network credentials" link on the login page. From there, you will be routed through NEOMED's network login process using the same login credentials that you use for logging into your email, Sharepoint, and other essential NEOMED networked resources. Please be patient with us as we get everything situated for your use and contact us with any questions at 330-325-6600 or e-mail library@neomed.edu for help.

Search Alerts

This guide will help you set up alerts so you can be notified what's in new issues of journals you are interested in following or what's new in a specific database on the subject you are researching.

EBSCOhost Alerts

Automatic e-mail alerts can be setup for databases such as CINAHL, PsycInfo and ERIC. RSS feeds are also available. The frequency may be set to daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly. Saved Alerts will stay in your accounts for a year.

Step by Step:

1. Navigate to the EBSCOhost Database of your choice.

2. Sign in, using the link at the top of the page (register for a MyEBSCOhost account if you don't have one)

3. Perform a search on your desired keywords and/or author

4. From the results page, click on the Search History link (below the search boxes).

5. From the Search History page, click on the Save Searches/Alerts link.

6. On the Saved Searches page, select Save Search as Alert.  Then a form will open.  Fill out the information according to your needs and preferences.

For additional information on how to view, edit or delete alerts, please view the EBSCO support website.
