Many sites allow you to sign up for email alerts when new content is posted. This may require a free (or paid) subscription to the site. Journal websites will typically provide a free table of contents email as an alert. Users must have a subscription or library access to get full-text articles.
MyNCBI allows users to save searches, and receive updates via email or RSS when new articles meeting the earch criteria are published.
