Step 5: Perform Evaluation, Analysis and Synthesis

  • Evaluate the clinical literature
  • You will want to critique the relevance, validity, and clinical applicability of the literature found in your search to answer the question.
  • Relevance - to the question and the patient
  • Use PPICO
    • Used to form your question
    • Identify PPICO of your article or guideline
  • If they are similar, the article or guideline can answer your question!
  • Use PPICONS to show the relevance of your article to your clinical question
