As part of NEOMED Library’s membership in OhioLINK, the library is migrating to a new library services platform, Alma, which is used for checking out physical materials and accessing eBooks and journals. Users can anticipate improved catalog searching, better access to electronic resources, and easier borrowing from other OhioLINK libraries. This cloud-based system will enhance support for modern teaching and research, streamline operations, and improve stability and security.
As part of the migration process, there will be interruptions to OhioLINK circulation services.
Important dates for library patrons:
- OhioLINK and SearchOhio borrowing temporarily suspended starting May 23, 2025
- New system launch: June 9, 2025
- Resume OhioLINK borrowing: June 11, 2025
- SearchOhio borrowing and lending resumes: Fall 2025 (date TBD)
Things to remember:
- There are 116 Libraries making this change simultaneously and all locations need to move together.
- Not all features of the new system will be available right away. Some features will become available after the “Go Live” date.
- The Library will be working with both internal and external partners to ensure that we are able to provide an enhanced user experience.
- If you rely on OhioLINK print resources over the Summer, please plan early and request the materials before the end of the Spring Semester.
