How do I find a book in NEOMED's catalog, NEOLINK?

There is more than one way to find print and electronic resources in the library's collections. When in doubt, ask the library staff for assistance.

  1. Click on “NEOLINK”, the library’s catalog.

  2. Choose how to search for the book. Options are:

    • Keyword

    • Title

    • Author

    • Medical Subject

    • ISSN/ISBN

    • Call Number

  3. Type in your search words

  4. Browse results until the desired title is located, checking author and year published to verify the book.

  5. Click on the book title.

  6. Check “location”, “call number”, and “status”.

    • NEOMED’s catalog includes entries from our associated hospitals. Items may be available there and not held in our library; some items may also be restricted to library use only.

  7. If the book is at NEOMED, use the call number to locate the book in our collection.

  8. If the book is at a hospital library, request the item by clicking the “request” button at the top of the screen.

  9. Provide your name and library ID number, and then choose a pick-up location. Items may be picked up at NEOMED or any of the associated hospital libraries.

  10. Click Submit:

 

Find a Book in OhioLink's Catalog

If the book is not available in our catalog, click “Search OhioLink” next to the original search terms, or at the top of the screen to see if it’s available from another library.

1. Type in search words

2. Browse results until the desired title is located, checking author and year published to verify the book.

3. Click on the book title.

4. Check “location”, “call number”, and “status”.

5. If the book is at an OhioLink library, request the item by clicking the green “request” button.

a. First, select your institution (NEOMED).

b. Provide your name and library ID number, and then choose a pick-up location. Items may be picked up at NEOMED or any of the associated hospital libraries.

c. Click Submit.

Find a Book in SearchOhio's Catalog

If the book in not available in the OhioLink catalog, click "SearchOhio" at the topic of the screen to see if it's available from another library.  SearchOhio is a service that allows OhioLink users to borrow materials from numerous Ohio public libraries.

1. Type in search words

2. Browse results until the desired title is located, checking author and year published to verify the book.

3. Click on the book title.

4. Check “location”, “call number”, and “status”.

5. Request the item by clicking the green “request” button

b. Provide your name and library ID number, and then choose a pick-up location. Items may be picked up at NEOMED or any of the associated hospital libraries.

c. Click Submit
